Dermal Fillers Pre-Treatment Instructions:

For optimal results, and to minimize the chance of bleeding or bruising at the injection site, please avoid all blood-thinning medications and supplements for one week prior to your appointment. This includes over-the-counter medication such as aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, and Aleve. Also avoid herbal supplements such as garlic, vitamin E, ginko biloba, St. John's Wort and omega-3 capsules. If you have a cardiovascular history, please check with your doctor prior to stopping use of aspirin. Inform your provider if you have a history of Perioral Herpes to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment. (Valtrex 500 mg BID, 5 days, start 2 days prior to treatment) Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A) retinols, retinoids, glycolic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, or any "anti-aging" products for two days before and after treatment. Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours before or after your treatment to avoid extra bruising. Do not use dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of it's ingredients or suffer from any neurological disorders.

Dermal Fillers Post-Treatment Instructions:

Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area unless instructed by provider. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Avoid extensive sun or heat for 72 hours. Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excessive swelling. If you have swelling, you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour. Use Tylenol (acetaminophen) for discomfort. Try to sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling. Take Arnica (typically found in health food stores) to help the bruising and swelling. Begin taking at least two days prior to injections. Wait a minimum of four weeks before skin care or laser treatments. Dermal fillers last, on average, 6-12 months. It is recommended at the time of your treatment to schedule your next appointment for optimal anti-aging benefits. The most typical side effects (bruising, swelling, redness) are temporary and will resolve. However, please call the office to notify us if you experience any additional side effects

BOTOX® Cosmetic Post-treatment Instructions:

The guidelines to follow post-treatment have been followed for years, and are still employed today to prevent the possible side effect of ptosis (drooping of the eyelids). These measures should minimize the possibility of ptosis. Do not do any straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 3-4 hours following treatment. BOTOX® takes approximately 2 hours to bind in place. Vigorous movements can interfere with the process. Avoid manipulation of treated area for 3-4 hours following treatment. This means that facials, peels and microdermabrasion should be avoided following BOTOX® treatment. It is recommended that you contact the office 2 weeks after treatment if the desired effect has not yet been achieved. Makeup may be applied before leaving the office.

Microneedling Pre-care instructions

Prior to the Microneedling session, please observe the following:
•No Retin-A products or applications 24 hours prior to your treatment.
•No auto-immune therapies or products 24 hours prior to your treatment.
•No prolonged sun exposure to the face 24 hours prior to your treatment. A
Microneedling treatment will not be administered on sunburned skin.
•On the day of the treatment, please keep your face clean and do not apply makeup.
•If you are taking a blood thinner, aspirin or any other medication that you have the
propensity to bleed easily while on, please tell your technician. If you are under a
physician’s care and need to discontinue your medication for a few days, always ask your
physician prior to each SkinPen Microneedling appointment.
•If you are planning to receive Botox, make sure that you give yourself at least 2 weeks
post Botox injections before receiving your Microneedling procedure.
•If an active or extreme breakout occurs before treatment, please consult your
Wait 6 months following oral isotretinoin use.

Microneedling Post- care instructions

After your treatment, please be aware and observe the following:
•Immediately after your treatment, you will look as though you have a moderate to
severe sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. You may also
notice some slight swelling, both are normal and should subside after 1 to 2 hours and
will normally diminish within the same day or 24 hours. You may see slight redness
after 24 hours but only in minimal areas or spots.
•If you are concerned about any reaction, please call our office and contact your
healthcare provider immediately.
After-care instructions for MicroNeedling Treatment:
•Use tepid water for the initial 24 hours to rinse the treated area. After 24 hours, use a
gentle cleanser to cleanse the face for the following 72 hours and gently dry the treated
skin. Always make sure that your hands are clean when touching the treated area.
• Apply the SkinPen® lubricant provided for moisture over the next 24 hours.
•Do not take any inflammatory medicines for at least 2 weeks post treatment.
•It is recommended that makeup or sunscreen hould not be applied for 24 hours after
the procedure. Do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if it is not
• After the initial 24 hours, apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with a
minimum SPF 30 for two weeks. A chemical-free sunscreen is highly recommended.
What to Avoid:
•For at least 3 days post treatment, do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy
Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) or anything perceived as
‘active’ skincare.
•Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 48 hours. No tanning beds.
•Do not go swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
•No exercising or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment. Sweating and
gym environments must be avoided during the first 72 hours post-treatment.
